Deacon Bill Smith is assigned directly to JRJI by the Archbishop of Los Angeles. He was ordained in 2007 after careers in the Marine Corps, city management, and special district management.

He also spent ten years as the Assistant to the Regional Bishop of San Gabriel Pastoral Region. Deacon Bill holds a Doctor of Ministry degree and brings decades of pastoral and administrative experience to the JRJI team.

His military background and service in local government give him unique insight into the challenges faced by those reentering society after incarceration.
